Since it can be expensive to go on safari privately, we've put together these group departures specifically for singles or couples who do not mind joining like-minded travellers in a small group in order to get the best rates.
US$4, 185 per person for an 11-day active safari to remote areas of the Northern Tanzanian National Parks.

Itinerary:
1 Arrive on KLM, pick up and overnight in River Trees.
A guide will meet you upon arrival in Tanzania. Our preferred arrival flight for this departure will be KLM but we are also happy to pick up guests from other flights in to Kilimanjaro Airport.
A guide will take you to River Trees Country Inn. This is a beautiful guests house on the outskirts of Arusha Town. The lodge is in a peaceful location next to a stream surrounded by a forest and some stunning gardens. This is the perfect place to enjoy your first night in Tanzania and to relax after the flight and before setting off on safari.
2 Transfer to Manyara National Park, lightweight camping in a special camp
Your guide will collect you from River Trees and take you on a road journey to Lake Manyara. This is an easy drive through Arusha town and across the Masaai Steppe. The drive is on a tarmac road and will take approximately 2-hours.
Your camp for the next two nights is in the very south of Lake Manyara National Park. Entering the park in the North you will have a full day game drive in to camp arriving in the afternoon.
Camp is a very comfortable lightweight camp set in a stunning location on the shores of Lake Manyara. It is not uncommon to have animals around camp all day long.
3 Manyara, game drive and night drive
Enjoy the full day inside the National Park exploring the park with your guide. He will decide what is the best routine for the day. Tonight after dinner you have the opportunity to go on a night game drive and chance seeing some of the African animals active at night.
4 Game drive out of the park, with an afternoon option of activity; either hike, mountain bike or village walk in the Manyara area. Overnight at Rothia Valley Lodge
You assist the camp crew in getting camp down and loaded and depart on a game drive out of the park. You should arrive in Manyara around midday. You have the choice of exploring the village either on foot or on bike. Lunch will be a local village lunch served in a banana plantation.
After lunch you drive up the wall of the Great Rift Valley and enjoy the comforts of Rothia Valley Lodge for the evening. This is a luxury-tented camp set on the tree line of the Ngorongoro forests. It is a stunning camp to enjoy a night in style. All proceeds of this lodge goes towards a children’s home situated close to the lodge.
5 Early morning game drive in the Crater and afternoon transfer to Ndutu Safari Lodge.
Today is a long but exiting day. You depart from the lodge early for a ¾ day game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater have over 30, 000 animals inside and is a spectacular site. You will depart from the Crater floor around 14:00 to continue your game drive in to the short grass plains of the Serengeti.
Tonight you overnight in another small lodge called Ndutu Safari Lodge. Although Ndutu is a stunning area to be in tonight is a stop over en-route to the Serengeti walking area.
6 Early morning transfer to Serengeti wilderness area for walking safari out of lightweight camp.
After two nights in more permanent accommodations; tonight is back to your little camp. You depart from Ndutu Lodge in the morning and enjoy a game drive in to the Serengeti National Park. The next few days will be enjoyed on a walking safari in one of the most remote places on Earth but; we first need to get you there. There are no roads leading in to the area, we will only drive and walk on GPS coordinates to get in to camp.
The campsite is located in an extremely remote are and you a guaranteed not to see another person for the duration of your walk.
7, 8, 9 Full day Serengeti walking safari
You enjoy the next few days on easy walking safaris with a highly trained guide. Your guide will decide where to go every day and for how long you should walk. The “how long” will mainly depend on the groups needs but generally the walking is for approximately 10 kilometers on flat to moderate hills. Basically the walking is not at all strenuous. The idea of these walking safaris is much more to get away from people, cars and to much daily clutter than to go on extended and very physically draining walks.
10 Game drive out of the area and overnight in Serengeti Medium Camp.
One last night in a large tented camp to get the dirt off…You assist the camp crew to put the camp down and go on a nice game drive out of the walking area in to a camp located in central Serengeti. You will have time for a relaxing game drive in the area in the afternoon.
11 Depart to KIA on a scheduled flight and depart on KLM.
There is time for another early morning game drive before you depart on a scheduled flight from the Serengeti back to Kilimanjaro airport where you have a dayroom at KIA Lodge before your flight out.
